The Top 10 Things to Know About Bolivia (in no particular order):
10. The women that wear bowler hats and big skirts are displaying wealth and independence.
9. When possible, avoid the bus. The roads are not paved or straight.
8. Happy hour is happy because each mixed drink works out to be $2 CDN, as long as you´re buying 2 at a time.
7. The World´s Most Dangerous Road is terrifying, but worth it. Once. (Erin, I can´t believe you did the ride when it was still an active road for vehicles!)
6. Allow yourself 6 or 7 hours to exit Bolivia. The border is a gong show!
5. The Salar is a must see, and if you can swing a 3-day expedition you won’t regret it.
4. Carry small change and toilet paper on you at all times – you pay to pee and the TP is not supplied. Also, ask Tal and I about the technique we developed to avoid breathing while doing your business.
3. If you are on a shoestring, Bolivia is beautiful and cheap, cheap, cheap.

      Don’t be fooled by the top 10, it was INCREDIBLE! Words aren’t enough to describe the scenery – once I upload photos you’ll see why you SHOULD visit Bolivia!
